I like the EuroMillions commercial. Apparently you can afford to get the Eiffel Tower in your Typical Portuguese Village (tm).

Of course the only reason any Portuguese Villager would care about the Eiffel Tower is if his neighbour had one first, in which case said Portuguese Villager would really need to get one, to show he can afford one too - preferably a bigger one.

"Siegfried's Tod", at Lisboa's opera building São Carlos, was a screening of the 1922-24 German silent movie Siegfried's Tod, by Fritz Lang. Music was provided by the Carolina Eyck Quintet. (Synthesizer, electric guitar, percussion, contrabass and theremin/violin.)

After which I waited around like a little stalker so I could say hi to Carolina Eyck. To which she replied with "We're going to have dinner now, would you like to join us?"

Coming to Portugal = Good career/life move.

So I had the very bright idea today of informing my roommate Saumya that staying over in Caldas is always so very nice, because they're three girls in the apartment who go to school together and everything, and consequentially make and eat dinner together every evening.

To which he said "Ooh, that is cool, let's do that too." We promptly informed João, the other roommate, of this cunning plan.

It is probably worth videotaping and editing to make a best-selling YouTube sitcom.

Because. Y'know. This works when your roommates are girls. But. Guys?

Anyway. Dinnertime now.

MOTELx, the Lisbon horror film festival, at Cinema São Jorge, a lovely old-style cinema that has been put out of use except for film festivals since the uprising of multinational cinemas in every shopping mall.

After about two hours of looking for this place (starting out from Baixa all the way to Entrecampos, telling a newspaper salesman "Procuro Campo Grande." while standing right next to the street sign saying "Campo Grande", because that's how stupid I am) I found it, took a ticket, and spent 20 minutes with a lady who does not at all seem to like her job and a very uncooperative printer. But there you have it. I am now officially licensed to stay in Portugal until the 10th of October, 2011.

Since the internet is filled with enough boring blogs and since reading isn't too fashionable anymore these days, I'm going to use the Seven PM method to illustrate my thrilling new life in Portugal.

The concept of Seven PM is to take a picture of whatever you're doing at 7 pm (give or take an hour) and post it online, with a little description or story (optional). I won't be updating daily, since I don't do interesting shit every day, but, there you go.
